Understanding a patient’s ability to safely and adequately care for himself/herself after discharge is critical in the ongoing safety and care management of older adults.  This DVD covers the components of executive function: concept formation, flexibility, and self-monitoring, and discusses specific reasons to screen for executive dysfunction, which may not be readily detected in routine cognitive screening tests.  Care providers will also find suggestions on how to secure the most accurate test results.  (Part of a 28-DVD training series.)
