For over ten years Terra Nova Films has coordinated a film and video festival, the Silver Images Film Festival, dedicated to finding and recognizing films and videos that present stories about life in its later years, and that do so entertainingly but without condescension.

The Silver Images Film Festival has been the only one of its kind in the United States, offering opportunities for people of all ages to see videos that demonstrate the vitality, diversity, and wisdom of older people.

Enlightening, Entertaining, Inspiring are only a few of the Festival goers' responses to the films shown in the Silver Images Film Festival. Critics have also recognized the importance of the festival. Chicago Magazine called it "a refreshing antidote to the way older adults are portrayed in the media."

In 2003 we changed the focus of this event from just a local Chicago Festival to a series of film and video showcases in various locations.
